Core Advantages

1. Composite elastomer and cord pressure body. Multiple rubber layers provide flexibility while high-strength cord controls radial expansion. When pump vibration, pressure fluctuation, and water hammer occur in the same line, the structure keeps deformation within the designed profile and distributes load through the complete sphere.

2. Three-direction movement absorption. The molded elastomer profile compresses and extends axially, offsets laterally, and deflects angularly. At pump nozzles and equipment connections affected by thermal cycling or minor foundation settlement, the joint absorbs the combined displacement before it becomes bending load in rigid pipework.

3. Media-specific wetted layer. EPDM maintains elasticity in water and HVAC circuits, NBR resists oil-bearing fluids, and PTFE lining isolates weak corrosive media. During continuous fluid contact, the matched inner layer retains dimensional stability and keeps chemical swelling or surface softening from reducing movement capacity.

Customization Capabilities

  • Movement geometry: Nominal diameter, face-to-face length, and sphere profile can be set for the required axial, lateral, and angular travel.
  • Connection interface: DIN, JIS, ANSI, or GB drilling is available with carbon steel, ductile iron, or stainless-steel flanges.
  • Service configuration: Compound, temperature formulation, PTFE lining, wall reinforcement, or control rods are selected for the medium and restraint condition.

Quality Control

Rubber compound cure curves are verified before molding, and cord angle, overlap, and layer count are checked during lay-up. Vulcanization records identify temperature, pressure, and time for each batch. Flange drilling, sealing-face condition, face-to-face length, and sphere concentricity are inspected after assembly. Every finished joint undergoes hydrostatic testing at 1.5 times working pressure. Design verification includes burst testing at twice working pressure, and third-party inspection can be arranged.

FAQ

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?

A: The minimum order quantity is 10 pieces, with mixed sizes, flange materials, or rubber compounds permitted after the production list is confirmed.

Q: Are free samples available?

A: Yes. Standard samples can be supplied free of product charge. Freight and any non-standard machining are confirmed before dispatch.

Q: Can an elastomeric joint absorb pipe weight?

A: No. The connected pipework must be supported and anchored independently. The joint is designed for specified movement and vibration, not dead load.

Q: When are control rods required?

A: Control rods are used where pressure thrust, excessive extension, pump discharge forces, or insufficient anchoring could pull the joint beyond its rated movement.
