Product Overview

The Rubber Shaft Coupling Joint is a restrained, large-diameter flexible rubber pipe connector with flanges and limit rods. It is used in municipal water and sewage pipelines, oil transfer lines, pump stations, industrial circulation systems, and other large-diameter piping installations.

Core Advantages

1. Layered pressure stability for large pipelines. The molded body spreads circumferential load across the full sphere instead of concentrating pressure in one section. This limits uneven ballooning and keeps the connector closer to its intended shape through repeated pressure cycles.

2. Restrained movement without rigid locking. The limit system stops excessive extension during surge, start-up, or pipeline settlement. Within the approved travel, the rubber body remains free to absorb movement rather than being locked rigidly.

3. Large-pipe installation without field welding. The flanged assembly bolts into the pipeline and forms a self-sealing flexible section. In pump stations and municipal pipe corridors, the joint can be removed for maintenance without cutting the main line or welding near the rubber body.

Customization Capabilities

  • The restrained joint is available from DN300 to DN1200 and PN6 to PN16.
  • Face-to-face length, flange drilling, hot-dip galvanized or stainless flanges, limit-rod quantity, rod diameter, and travel can be set from the approved drawing.
  • The NBR formulation and reinforcement level can be adjusted to the medium and temperature requirement.

Quality Control

NBR compound, reinforcement layers, and vulcanization conditions are checked by batch. Before assembly, flange dimensions, rod diameter, rod spacing, travel allowance, fastener threads, and protective coating are inspected. Finished joints receive hydrostatic testing at 1.5 times working pressure and air-tightness testing at 1.1 times working pressure. Limit rods are set to the approved travel, and every assembly is inspected before packing. Third-party inspection is accepted.

FAQ

Q: Can a sample be made before the full order?

A: Yes. A sample can be produced from the approved large-diameter drawing. Custom sample development normally takes 15 to 20 days.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?

A: The minimum order quantity is 10 pieces. Different DN sizes can be combined when the flange and rod configurations are approved together.

Q: Do the limit rods replace pipeline anchors?

A: No. The rods protect the joint from over-extension, while pipeline anchors and guides control system thrust and direct thermal movement.

Q: How should the limit rods be adjusted?

A: They are set to the specified allowable movement with clearance in the neutral position. The nuts must not clamp the joint rigidly unless the approved design requires a fixed setting.
