Flexible Corrugated Metal Tubing

Flexible Corrugated Metal Tubing is an annular corrugated stainless steel tube used as a flexible connection in piping and equipment systems. Typical applications include chemical plants, oil systems, HVAC, food processing, shipbuilding, steam lines, hot-oil circuits, pure-water systems, and machinery connections.

1. Progressive bending across the active length. The wave structure spreads bending strain over several sections rather than concentrating it at one point. On routes with multiple direction changes or limited clearance, this lowers the risk of a sharp crease in the tube wall.

2. Controlled load distribution under pressure. The restraint structure limits elongation and directs tensile force toward the end fittings while protecting the corrugated tube from external abrasion. The assembly keeps its working shape more consistently under pressure, vibration, and axial pull.

3. Clean, non-aging metal bore. The metallic flow path does not permeate, shed elastomer particles, or harden with age. It is suited to hot-process and clean-utility service where fluid purity and long-term dimensional stability are important.

• S304L or 316L tubing can be produced to the required diameter, active length, corrugation profile, bend requirement, and PN10 to PN40 pressure level.
• The assembly can be unbraided or braided and fitted with flanges, threads, swivel joints, welded stubs, or drawing-based ends.
• Operating details are set for the confirmed medium, movement cycle, end orientation, and temperatures from -196 to +600°C.

Stainless grade and wall thickness are checked before forming. After forming, corrugation height, pitch, roundness, and active length are measured, and all end welds are visually inspected. Completed tubes receive a pressure test at 1.5 times design pressure and leak testing appropriate to the ordered medium. Braided assemblies are checked for coverage, broken wires, and end-band security. Every unit receives final dimensional and surface inspection before packing.
